When choosing a website builder, there are many options available. If you are unsure of the difference between SeedProd and Elementor, this makes sense. Although there are many alternative page builders to SeedProd and Elementor. So, you should be aware of the right differences before making a final purchase decision.

I will share my experience with both plugins to illustrate their similarities and differences. However, my primary objective is to assist you in determining which option is best suited to your needs.

Overview of the SeedProd & Elementor

I would like to begin by taking a brief look at the general features of both plugins before diving deeply into the details.

SeedProd’s Overview

SeedProd was simply a tool for creating “custom maintenance pages”. During the site building process, you can enable it so that your visitors do not land on a half-finished website. Although SeedProd offers a visual builder, you may customize the maintenance page as you see fit.

When Awesome Motive acquired SeedProd in 2018, things changed for the company. Awesome Motive is a large company that owns popular plugins such as OptinMonster, All-in-One SEO, WP Forms, etc.

As a result of Awesome Motive’s efforts, SeedProd has evolved from just a maintenance page builder to a complete website builder. Using SeedProd, now you can design the header and footer of your website and create an entire landing page for your website.

Elementor’s Overview

Elementor Ltd is an Israeli company famous for being the most used website builder for WordPress. It launched in 2016 but gained popularity quite fast. Website developers loved its gradual and fast feature updates. 

Now Elementor Pro is the best page builder for both beginners and professionals. It includes every mandatory element, and widget and has a quick editing experience.

You will get many features, including a drag and drop editor, form builder, theme builder, popup builder, and more.

Recently Elementor has launched a cloud-based ecosystem that you can use to save and use your work at multiple sites.

Moreover, Elementor supports many third-party free and paid extensions/addons to make your job much easier.

Elementor has many users, so you will have many tutorials on YouTube or Forums to get out of tricky situations.   Additionally, it is compatible with the majority of popular WordPress themes.

Let’s compare the key feature of both plugins and find out which offers better.

 Key features of SeedProd Plugin

SeedProd specializes in building landing pages that increase conversions. There are two features that stand out in particular.

Domain Mapping:

Suppose you have a domain at yourwebsite.com, and you wish to create a landing page for that domain. Now you will need to create the landing page at yourwebsite.com/landingpage. But you do not want it to appear on your main domain; rather, you would like it to appear on a separate domain.

If this is the case, you will need to create a new WordPress site or utilize a landing page creation service. SeedProd allows you to create a landing page on your website and host it on the landingpage.com domain without installing WordPress or building a new website.

Personalization based on queries:

With SeedProd, you can customize your landing pages based on queries. In this way, when a user searches for an exact query, he will be directed to a page that is tailored to him.

You can also hide the header and footer of the theme if you want to make your landing page more unique.

 Key features of Elementor Plugin

Elementor has a lot of features that make it superior to SeedProd. Popup editor, popup forms, custom CSS for each element, and much more. 

One of the key features that made Elementor everyone’s favorite plugin is adaptation. The developers have built this plugin such as way so it can integrate with other tools. If the plugin lacks any feature, you can use a third-party tool. 

You can use existing third-party addons for Elementor or even make one for your convenience. 

The new addition to this awesome plugin is the cloud website service. From now on, you can use Elementor cloud to create and host your website, just like Wix or Shopify. You get to connect your custom domain and get Free SSL as well. 

SeedProd Vs Elementor: Ease of Use

When choosing a page builder plugin, the priority should be ease of use. No matter how featureful a tool is, it is not worth getting if you cannot use it right. Also, a website builder must let you customize any site part on any theme you use.

SeedProd

SeedProd showcases all the widgets on the left sidebar and previews your page on the right. You will get a top bar with a design tab, integration tab, and page settings tab. 

You can drag and drop widgets from the sidebar of the page. Click on the page to add text and write your content (inline editing). 

If you want to edit any part of the page, just click on that content, and settings will pop up on the left. You can replace media, edit designs and add any advanced functionality here. 

All the SeedProd templates are already mobile responsive, but you can check how your content looks using mobile view. You can change items and show/hide content according to the device. SeedProd only has Desktop and Mobile views; if you are worried, there is no Tablet view.

Once you are happy with your design, you can click on the Preview button or just hide the sidebar to check the full view of the page. 

Some important useful options of SeedProd:

• Easy undo/redo.
• Revision history.
• A layout navigation mode to see the high-level layout of your design.

Elementor

In Elementor, you will get a preview on the right and the tools bar on the left. You can add and edit element settings from the sidebar.

You can drop builder to add elements on the pages and use inline editing for text. If you need some advanced editing or customization, click on the elements, and you will get the option on the left sidebar.

Nowadays, a responsive website is mandatory. Google is rewarding the mobile-friendly UI more than a desktop-targeted site. Elementor designs are already device responsive; however, this plugin allows you to edit each content according to screen size.

Another user-friendly feature of Elementor is the right click of the mouse. Most themes and plugins rely only on left click to apply or open settings.

On the other hand, Elementor adds some unique settings like duplication, navigation shortcuts, etc., in the right click.

You can revert to any or previous site version using the Action History and Revision History. It is an advanced feature to avoid continuous redo/undo.

In spite of this, I believe that there is no Elementor alternative that offers the same ease of use as WordPress page builders.

Other notable options:

Choice: SeedProd is a more straightforward page builder than Elementor as it has less learning curve. You can also use Elementor efficiently once you are comfortable with it. Yet, SeedProd has a more beginner-friendly approach from the start.

Customization Flexibility Difference Between SeedProd & Elementor

Customization flexibility is a significant factor in choosing the right website builder. You will not be able to use tons of features if the customization level is limited. Also, it is crucial to change the look of your website from the default.

Let’s compare both of the plugins one by one.

SeedProd

SeedProd premium offers 183 templates and 43 pre-build templates to start your website. You can import and edit these themes if fits your business. Yet, if you want to start from scratch, SeedProd comes with 80+ widgets and blocks.

The templates include complete pages like the homepage, sales page, thank you page, and many more. But using the builder, you can customize the logo, header, footer, post navigation, title, and much more.

The plugin also allows you to customize your opt-in forms, contact forms, and registration forms. You can also add media, progress bar, and icons, customize each element’s color and style and add custom CSS. You can use the inline editing for customizing the head tags (H1, H2, H3).

If you have a WooCommerce store, you can get the SeedProd dedicated WooCommerce add-ons. You can also edit the Google fonts on your website with integration as well. 

Elementor

Elementor is very generous with its free version, which includes 30 widgets and a handful of free templates. But with a pro license, you will get almost 100+ widgets and blocks to customize your website to the next level.

You will get 300+ pro and free templates and blocks in the pro version. So you can insert any of the templates to customize your landing page. It allows you to create a customized hero, body, and footer section or import any of the blocks.

If you plan to make a landing page from scratch, Elementor Pro offers almost 100 widgets. Slider, carousel, gallery, progress bar, animated titles, whatever you want, you can add to the page. 

Moreover, you can define the margin, spacing, animation, and transition on the advanced tab on hover. Also, you can add background to content, and make it responsive according to a device, and custom CSS. 

Elementor allows you to edit each item in a unique style than other. You can control the design from top to bottom of the page. Prebuilt or uploaded manually, the settings work on both types of elements you add to the pages.

Choice: Although SeedProd offers a more straightforward way of customization, Elementor is the better choice here. It allows you to customize each element in any way you want.

SeedProd Vs Elementor: Performance

Performance is a significant ranking factor for Google now. Also, nobody wants to stick with a slow-loading website anyways. So keeping your site faster for users should be a priority.

Now, let’s look at the performance of both Elementor and SeedProd.

Note: We do not use any speed optimization plugin for the below reports.

Page Speed Performance of SeedProd

I created a landing page using SeedProd landing page builder to test speed of the page builder. SeedProd compressed the default images and structure, so I used my own images to make a fair competition.

In the test, SeedProd scored 94 on mobile speed, which is an excellent number for Page Speed Insight. Without any compression or image optimization, the raw page is achieving that high number, proof that this plugin is ideal for speed.

Page Speed Performance of Elementor

Elementor also has a lot of premade templates. However, they were full of images and animations. As expected, I tried to test those without making any changes, but the results were poor. To give this page builder a fair chance, I created a similar page like the SeedProd and tested its speed.

Elementor couldn’t pull the green numbers and only had 87 on the mobile score. However, the desktop score was good, but the difference is noticeable. You can clearly see the loading delay in real-time than SeedProd.

Choice: SeedProd takes the lead in the performance race. It is much lighter and works excellently without any optimization plugin.

Integration Difference

WordPress is a CRM system that lets you build a website and install many tools to scale your business. So you may need to install third-party tools/plugins to get more functionality.

Both the SeedProd and Elementor allow you to integrate multiple plugins but let’s compare which has better options.

SeedProd

SeedProd offers a total of 14 integration tools with a pro license. You can integrate marketing tools like AWeber, MailChimp, Drip, and spam protection tools like Google ReCaptcha. 

SeedProd and WP Forms come from the same developers, so you can seamlessly integrate them with API. It is good to build custom forms to collect leads and grow your client list. SeedProd also offers WooCommerce add-ons on the pro package.

The best thing about SeedProd integration is you do not need to leave your page builder to integrate the API keys. You can just click on the tools icon and paste your API key on the front end.

Elementor

Elementor supports MailChimp, Converkit, Zapier, and many other tools. You can integrate 17+ marketing tools.

Although each tool’s integration is seamless, you must go through a process to use your email marketing tools. First, you will have to integrate the API key with Elementor. Then build a form on your landing page, and after that, you will be able to connect your email campaign tool.

Choice: Both of the plugins can integrate with the major marketing tools. So, the points are equal for both. However, integration and use of tools are a little more convenient in SeedProd.

Customer Support

Customer Support is a significant factor you do not want to take your chance on. Many excellent tools lost its customer due to a lack of support. A plugin always gets updated, so there is a chance of getting bugs, or you may need help that will cost you if you take support from others. 

You must go with a tool that offers immediate support and have tons of document to help you. 

SeedProd Support

SeedProd has huge documentation on its official website. You can learn to use the tool or troubleshoot a problem with the help of these.

Moreover, you can follow their YouTube channel to learn more about landing page design tips-tricks and much more.

The only way to have direct contact is through a support ticket. However, this is not as quick as live chat, but it’s not ineffective.

Elementor Support

Elementor is an established and popular page builder, so you do not have to worry too much about support. Elementor has a detailed guide on the plugin, from installation to creating a landing page. They also have tutorial videos on their website to learn the basics.

The Global Community of Elementor has a Facebook Group where expert users can help you with your problem.

Also, once you become a premium member, you can open a support ticket. And Elementor has a live chat feature on their website, which makes communication faster and easier. 

Choice: Elementor has better support, resource, and guides. Also, it has huge pro users, so there is another option to take help from a third-party WordPress expert.

Pricing Differences

When comparing two tools, the price impacts the purchase decision. Suppose you are not getting enough features for a price that’s not worth buying. Also, you must choose the best one that offers more features for a cheaper price.

SeedProd

SeedProd comes with a very cheap $39.50/year for 1 website, and for $239.60, you can use it on unlimited sites.

The Basic and the Plus plan is good if you are only planning to make your landing pages more advanced & professional, but to get the theme builder, you must get at least the Pro plan.

Elementor

Elementor offers 3 regular premium pricing plans with 2 customized plans. You can get the Basic plan for $49/year for 1 website and a maximum of 100 licenses for $299/year. However, you can try their $99/year for 3 sites if you have multiple sites. 

I have talked before, recently Elementor introduced a Cloud website service. So you can create a complete website with the $99/year plan, which includes the hosting fee.

Better Choice: If you are planning to buy a page builder plugin for only 1 site, I highly recommend going with SeedPort(For basic and mid-level design). But if you have a larger budget and need advanced design, Elementor is a considerable tool.

Does Elementor Make your Site slower?

Elementor uses huge HTML, CSS, and JS codes to function on a site. So these additional codes take some time to process and render.

This will surely make your site slower, but it’s worth the easy editing of your theme. Yet, you can use a speed optimization plugin to make it up for speed.

Final Thouhts & Which Is Better?

Having read the comparison so far, it is evident that both page builders have their own unique features. SeedProd is a new page builder that offers a user-friendly interface and easy-to-use features.

Importing a template from the SeedProd library does not require much modification. In addition, the editing settings are fairly straightforward. It will take a beginner a few hours to gain an understanding of the basics. Further, the plugin is very lightweight and aims to keep the page fast for a better user experience.

Alternatively, Elementor is a mature tool with essential features. They also introduce new widgets in response to user requests. To enhance Elementor’s functionality, you can use third-party add-ons.

In addition, I would like to draw your attention to the price of the plugins. If you purchase SeedProd at a lower price, you will not receive all of its features. Basic and Plus plans only offer the landing page builder, not the theme builder.

In contrast, Elementor may cost more, but it offers everything you need. Most templates and blocks include all of the premium elements and support.

However, it does not provide unlimited sites or lifetime deals. If you are not an agency with a large client base, Elementor is the best overall page builder.
