Elementor Vs Divi

Before going to a comparison of Elementor Vs Divi, I would like to share a definition of what is a page builder for WordPress CMS?

What are Page Builders?

A page builder is a drag-and-drop website editor that makes it easy for users to design their own pages having no experience in coding. There are benefits for both of these tools, and it will be important to determine which one is going to give you the most control over your web page design.

There are two main types of page builders: one is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), where content can be edited on live websites, and another is an HTML editor, which involves writing code with no other interface required.

This article will discuss Divi and Elementor, which do not offer an HTML option when designing your layouts.

Divi Vs. Elementor: Performance

Elementor theme builder is a modern, WordPress Page Builder. It has recently been updated and has improved many of its features. However, it still faces performance & Load time issues in most browsers. So Elementor performance is a bit bad and it takes time to load if you cannot properly optimize.

That’s why some designs are slower than others in various browsers, and users often complain about this slowness.

Wearers, with respect to Divi theme builder performance, is not as stressful and complex as using Elementor builder. So in the performance battle, definitely Divi’s performance is better than Elementor’s performance. Its load time is better than Elementor.

Elementor Vs. Divi Builder: Definition

Elementor is a drag-and-drop website builder that allows users to create responsive layouts with no code. Whereas Divi Builder is a web page editor designed by Elegant Themes with an intuitive design and pre-built layouts.

Elementor focuses on enabling users to make quick edits, while Divi Builder offers more than 60 preset home pages and countless other pre-built layouts for blog posts, portfolio sites, etc, which can be customized in many ways.

Both tools are extremely competitive because they offer 90% or more of what you need when starting out, such as backend customization options (custom CSS), front-end editing capabilities, and site hosting support.

They also offer different blog post blocks that allow you to easily add a featured image in RSS, title, meta descriptions, and more. Not thus, you do not need to install social media plugins separately, because both offer a good user experience social media share buttons to add page or post.

Also, both have built-in A/B testing functionally which will help you to decide which layout or design is the best for users to get more conversion success or feedback.

One very important factor will have to do with pricing. Two-page builders offer paid plans, but Elementor offers a free alternative with limited features.

Elementor Vs Divi Builder: Comparsion (Elementor)

Elementor page builder is a WordPress plugin that allows users to design their pages in real-time. Elementor is an alternative to WordPress Basic Editor and replaces it with Elementor’s own editor. It is the only design software that offers endless designing possibilities.

Below are some features of Divi Builder.

Divi page builder

Drag and Drop Content Editor:

Divi’s drag-and-drop editor allows you to create custom page designs and gives your page stand out in the crowd. Not only that, but you can also create custom theme templates.

Divi builder also features a wireframe mode to help you preview the page structure. You can keep track of the entire process as you go. Moreover, you will find an active history panel. All in all, Divi is extremely easy to use and beginner-friendly.

Visual frontend interface

Divi has an excellent front-end interface that allows you to design your pages faster than Elementor. Also, Divi uses a cursor that looks like a pencil to better suit its “Visual” name.

Custom CSS Controls:

If you want to take it a step further and own custom CSS, you can incorporate it with Divi builder.

Massive Library:

Divi builder has a vast library containing over 800 templates and 30 customizable content modules. In the debate between Elementor vs Divi builder, the latter gets an edge since it offers more creative freedom to designers.

Reusable Custom Content:

Anything that you’ve previously created in the Divi page builder will remain in your account. You can even choose to share it across the site. You can control how your element is being updated or used. All these advantages will be just a click away.

Divi Builder Layouts

Divi page builders offer 122 layout packs with complete site templates. I love the Divi Builder and the premade layouts, but if you just need a simple one-page website or blog that is not related to business, you can use the free version of Elementor.

You can create a lot more layouts with Elementor than Divi for any type of website.

Custom CSS

Like Elementor, Divi offers to add custom CSS codes to any section of your design.

Divi Popup Builder:

Divi does not offer a build-in popup builder. You can use their separate popup builder without any cost. That means you will get the Extra, Bloom & Monarch plugins free with Divi pro. Divi popup builder (Bloom) has an excellent design option so that you can design a high converting popup for any purpose.

Elementor or Divi Builder: Ease of Use

Divi is an easy-to-use website builder. It’s great for beginners, with a drag and drop interface which makes it surprisingly intuitive. More experienced users might find it too limiting; however, this is an advantage for those who may not have the technical know-how.

Wearers, Elementor page builder plugin is also quite easy to use, but in a different way. It’s also good for beginners because the graphical layout interface is fairly intuitive and can be mastered quickly by anyone willing to put in the time.

Divi Vs Elementor: Template Library & Third-Party Plugins

You will get this benefit with both builders because they have a good template library for you to use at no cost. That means you will not need to purchase a separate template for your blog posts.

Besides, both page builders are well compatible with the most popular third-party plugins that are essential for your WordPress site, such as WooCommerce, WPML & Perfmatters, iThemes, etc.

Elementor Vs. Divi Builder: Price Comparison

Elementor Price:

Elementor offers a free plan with over 40 widgets and 30 templates. Besides, there are five pricing plans like Essential, Advanced, Expert, Studio, and Agency. Elementor pricing starts from $49 for a single site to $999 for an agency for up to 1000 websites. So ADVANCED plan of Elementor Pro version is the best for up to 3 sites.

Note: Elementor does not offer any plan for unlimited websites.

Elementor & Divi Builder Alternatives

There are many alternative page builders of Divi and Elementor. Below are some popular alternatives you can use.

Which One Should You Use?

Choosing between Divi and Elementor often depends on personal preference. In my research, Divi stands out due to its extensive features and functionality, including numerous pre-built templates that simplify the website creation process.

Regarding speed, Divi consistently delivers a better score based on reviews from many professional bloggers. Websites built with Divi tend to perform faster than those created with Elementor.

While both page builders offer similar features, there are notable differences. Divi comes with a wide array of pre-made templates and generally performs faster. However, it can be challenging for first-time or unfamiliar users. On the other hand, Elementor is known for its user-friendly interface.

Although you can install both Divi and Elementor on the same WordPress site, their blocks, widgets, or features cannot be used interchangeably, making it impractical to use both simultaneously. Additionally, you cannot use Elementor with the Divi theme due to Divi’s built-in builder, but Elementor can be used with its own theme or other WordPress themes.

Both Divi and Elementor are compatible with Gutenberg, ensuring that you can utilize all the features you expect from these page builders alongside the Gutenberg editor.

In terms of SEO, both page builders include a live SEO preview tool, facilitating the optimization of your content for Google. While some SEO experts argue that page builders can negatively impact SEO, others, including myself, disagree with this viewpoint.

Regarding licensing, Divi allows you to use the builder on unlimited sites with a one-year license. In contrast, Elementor’s Basic plan does not offer this flexibility, even in its highest-priced plans, making Divi a more cost-effective choice in terms of licensing.

So which is better? Elementor Pro or Divi Builder Pro? The answer depends on what you want from your website.

If you’re seeking a drag-and-drop interface editor that allows you to customize every aspect of your site, Elementor is an excellent choice. With its intuitive interface and over 150 pre-built templates, you can create a professional and modern responsive website in just minutes.

One significant distinction between Divi and Elementor is the range of features and add-ons. Elementor offers a wider variety of add-ons compared to the Divi builder, enhancing its flexibility and functionality.

However, if your primary need is an easily customizable homepage layout with numerous options for adding content blocks, the Divi builder might be more suitable. It’s straightforward enough for beginners but includes advanced features that cater to more experienced users as well.

Based on my research, advanced users may find Divi more advantageous. With a single purchase of Divi, you receive a comprehensive package of plugins, making it a valuable investment compared to Elementor.

Elementor Vs. Divi Builder: Conclusion

It is possible that both Elementor and Divi Builder are truly impressive in their performance and features. Both of these rich content builders are a fantastic option for those wanting to have complete control over their website, with an array of features and benefits. You can build a professional site with no coding skills whatsoever!

In this Elementor vs Divi builder comparison, there are no clear winners. However, if you are only starting out, I would suggest you can try Elementor for free or other than Divi builder as a premium. It’s effortless to use, making it an ideal choice for beginner designers.

The saddest thing about Divi is it uses “Easy-bit-not powerful” Custom CSS.

It easy.. but not as powerful as Elementor Custom CSS
