Ways to Optimize Your WordPress Website Speed

(1) Select a better web hosting provider

Nowadays WordPress developers offer lots of interactive and eye-catching features of their theme. But using too many features can increase the loading time and lower server performance.

The solution is to use the lightweight or default theme of WordPress by customizing it. Using a lightweight theme will increase your website performance drastically. I will recommend using GeneratePress, which is the super lightweight theme ever. You can also use Astra theme(Up to 63% OFF)

Currently, I am using Elementor page builder here at WP BASIC PRO. Buy it now 50% OFF!

Images can significantly increase the size of a webpage. Reducing or optimizing images with tools without compromising the quality can improve webpage loading time.

There are many plugins available in WordPress for image optimization. By using these plugins, you can easily speed up your website. One of the best plugins is Smush image optimizer.

WP Rocket is the most recommended caching plugin ever.

(6) Use CDN

Your site speed can vary depending on your visitor’s and hosting location. CDN will provide you with a faster site loading speed to visitors from any location.

CDN creates a mirror of your website for a different location. It serves a page to its visitor from the closest server, which creates an optimized version. You can use free Cloudflare CDN.

If you want to spend money on it, you can use Max CDN, which is recommended

(7) Cleanup the WordPress database

To optimize your site speed it is important to keep the database clean. If you clean your WordPress database regularly then many unnecessary data stored in the database will be removed which makes your site faster than before.

You should delete unwanted files from your database to optimize the database size. It helps you to reduce the size of your backup files. Also, deleting spam comments, fake users, drafts and unwanted content will optimize your site speed.

DDoS techniques can attack websites with this functionality. So turn off this function to speed up your WordPress website.

(11) Lazy Loading of Images

Most of the time, images are the main reason for slowing down a WordPress admin or site. To optimize your WordPress site speed, you should load your images on a lazy loading basis.

Lazy Loading of Images means that the plugin will not completely download an image before it is shown in the page content.

It downloads only a lower quality image placeholder and uses Javascript to replace it with a higher quality image when a user scrolls down or nears the image.

You can use WP Rocket or any other WordPress performance plugin to get the Lazy loading feature.
